Optimal management of a hybrid and isolated microgrid in a random setting

Nowadays, governments and electricity companies are making efforts to increase the integration of renewable energy sources into grids microgrids, thus reducing carbon footprint increasing social welfare. Therefore, one purposes microgrid is distribute exploit more zero emission sources. In this work, a Stochastic Unit Commitment hybrid isolated developed. The supplies power satisfy demand response by managing photovoltaic plant, wind turbine, microturbine, diesel generator battery storage system. optimization problem aims reduce operating cost divided three stages. first stage, uncertainties powers modeled through Markov processes, predicted using an ARMA model. second stochastic unit commitment solved considering system constraints, production, demand. last real-time operation modeled, error in forecast calculated. At point, decide which generators must supply variation minimize total cost. results indicate that models accurately simulate production energy, strongly influences paid microgrid. Wind has daily impact on cost, whereas smoother impact, shown terms general trend. A comparison study also considered emphasize importance correctly modeling context.
